Bev in "We Gather Together"

Many things about Bev's behavior bother me in this particular episode, but I noticed something the other day that I hadn't before. I just noticed that she stormed out of Roseanne & Dan's house without thanking them for dinner, or at the very least, for inviting them! ( I guess I've read too many advice articles lately about people not thanking others for inviting them to Thanksgiving, their efforts and hard work to purchase and prepare the meal, etc....)

Anyway, I thought it was quite rude for her to storm out in a rage and not thank R & D for the meal. Everyone else seemed to either thank them or at least say good-bye. Family or not, that's no way to treat people who've spent their money and time on a Thanksgiving meal for that many people.

That was a good epsidoe.

Wasn't that the one where she was upset Roseanne put them up in a motel?

It was rude, but in my experience, that's exactly how control freaks behave. They throw a hissy fit over some slight (real or imagined) and have to let everyone know they're upset, either to coax a pity party or emit guilt from others. If they can't get their way over whatever they're pouting about, at least they can try to control the emotions/moods of everyone else in the room.
