Roseanne's always into the weird and scary Halloween stuff, WHY would she want DJ to be Alfalfa?

That costume always bothered me. DJ is like 7 or 8 in that episode and unhappy with it. Why did she make him wear it? Roseanne was mean to the point of being abusive.

if all you're here to do is complain, then a- stop watching the show and b- stop bringing your negativity to this board.

constructive criticism is one thing, but that ain't what you're doing.

I can be negative. This isn't a fan board. It's a discussion site. I do like the show, I just don't like two of the characters: Roseanne and Roseanne, Jr. (Darlene). I'm not the only one who doesn't care for Roseanne (the character).

Good point. And to the other comment here: DJ was born in 1981, so he'd be 10 in this episode (1991).

I don't think she embraces "scary" so much as "original". Dressing up as Prince, for example, isn't exactly fright-inducing material but is definitely unique.

I always thought he was very cute as Alfalfa.

I liked D.J.'s reaction, "Who am I supposed to be?", while at the same time holding a toy machine gun.
