Early vs. later seasons

Early seasons: comedy with occasional dramatic moments

Later seasons: drama with occasional funny moments

Yes. Also:

early seasons: typical working class family with likeable characters, people you would like to have over for a backyard barbeque. Clever dialogue and unique yet believable situations, and daring to be more real than most other TV families at the time.

Later seasons: characters you'd no longer want to have over for that barbeque, or even have as neighbors- most of them became mean and one dimensional. Constant insults that were no longer clever, with simmering bitterness underneath. Trying way too hard to push the envelope so it no longer seemed natural or realistic.

I'm watching the show on Laff right now and it's somewhere in the middle of season 6 that Roseanne starts screaming at everyone constantly and it's women know all and the men are all stupid.

Yes. The early seasons are a lot better than the later ones. The later seasons were way more drama and a lot of the story lines were way over the top.

Roseanne turned into a much angrier and raging character in the later seasons.
