I actually feel for Becky in this episode. That would’ve been a mortifying experience for anyone, let alone a teenage girl who has a crush on a guy in her class. I like that Roseanne allows her to react the way she does, tries to be there for her, etc., but in the end reels her in - "You better get used to it too because I’m tell you life is full of boombies" - when Jimmy arrives for their date.

and it is a show. they have to dramatize it to make it more interesting. usually most would just be stuck in their room and not leave which Becky actually did but people kept trying to talk to her about it. and she just wanted everyone to leave her alone
