she was always talking trash to people referring to how stupid everyone is and how dumb mark is, how david is a wimp, how fat her parents are, calling becky a slut and calling dj a pervert. why didn't anyone just haul off and beat her into a pile of goo? I wouldn't have put up with it, she would have got punched and kicked if she were to talk to me like that. she should have been in the kitchen making sandwiches and washing dishes.

in the final scene it shows Darlene has been beat up and she's asking for her pain medication.
But I agree that she should've been smacked around more. She was beyond obnoxious.
Oh yea! I always forget about that episode. I like that one, that's the one where Jackie goes to therapy. No one has any sympathy for Darlene when she's about to get beat up.
Mostly, Darlene when to stop. She was a coward like her mom with the tax guy.It's one thing to be opinionated/big mouth, but they (Roseanne and Darlene) only did it to people they felt they could bully.
DJ should have kicked her ass after he had gotten bigger and stronger than her. Just once I would have loved for that to have happened. A little payback for what she did and said to him when he was younger would have been sweet. I'm sure others feel the same way!

shareI think practically every character on the show is obnoxious, possibly even Dan (whom I have to think about to dislike, but if you DO think about it...he was a pathetic father), possibly excepting David (whose wimpiness was often annoyingly exaggerated by the show--did anyone ever stop to think that if he'd hit DJ back in season 7 Dan would have bashed his teeth down his throat?). Darlene just epitomizes cynical 90s smart-assed teenage-ness, to the point where they had to cast a smirking Danielle Harris on the show to make her look like a "good girl" by comparison. (As a side note, it's hilarious how long Harris played teenagers--"The Last Boy Scout" and the remake of "Halloween" are 16 years apart!)

Sidebar: I agree. While he wasn't terrible, he was often quite... incompetent and immature. Nothing immoral, just a very flawed guy who bowled viewers over with his charm.
Cuz all TV shows had a smart a** kid in the cast around that time, lol.
