Darlene's bedroom vs. college apartment

Which one looked more comfortable?

reply

The college apartment. It had a fridge, she didn't have to share the bathroom (until David moved in), and her parents weren't around.

reply

And her apartment had a tv whcih there were no tvs in bedrooms in the Conner house.

reply

I like how Darlene took her bed comforter from her room to college with her

reply

I used to get her bedroom and apartment mixed up

reply

Her home looked more comfortable because her apartment look skuzzy. But if it were cleaned up, it would have been pretty nice. A bay window and a fireplace (if I remember right)? Not too shabby.

reply

I wonder when she moved out of that apartment. She seemed to be mostly home by season eight.

reply

I wonder why David didn't move back in there once they got married?

reply

Because it was in Chicago and they stayed in Lanford b/c Darlene was pregnant.

reply

I mean did Darlene permanently move out of the apartment?

reply

Her apartment was a dump. I'm sure it was rat infested. She should have been living in a dorm room anyway.

reply

Also, why did she have two beds when she lived alone?

reply

Wasn't there some talk of a roommate when she first moved in there? I seem to remember a roommate being mentioned in passing, but we never met the person.

reply

Also, how did she live alone in that apartment if she was only sixteen originally? Also, I wish Becky had come to visit her there.

reply

I think so, but even if that weren't the case, it was probably meant for two people to be able to live in it. My college apartment had two beds in each room. I lived there for 4 years. The first year, all 4 beds were occupied, then 2nd and 3rd year, two of us stayed and we each had our own room (one of our roommates dropped out and the other moved up to the main campus since we were at a branch campus), and in my 4th year, my roommate graduated and I had the entire apartment to myself.

reply

I would have liked to have seen more of her life in Chicago at least for one episode.
