COMET and new episodes?

I hope COMET gets the new episodes to air. They should be making better contracts with the films for these new episodes. I don't see why a network should not be able to air the new stuff if they did their job right. They are going to have a full season package as opposed to the old style where the networks had them on an episode by episode case. So I hope they can air them.

They have to build up their war chest of advertising profits to deepen the library. Let's hope they make smart buys when they can. ThisTV did a very good job at that and is the current model for over-the-air specialty networks. It can be done, especially as cable TV becomes less and less affordable.

I was saying that I hope they got the rights proper for the new episodes, like signing off on having a musicians song in a show. In all media that song is part of the episode. Doing something akin to this would mean networks wouldn't need to buy the whole season one movie(or movie package) at a time. Because Shout!Factory would already have gotten them attached to the episodes. I wouldn't mind lesser studio's films if this is what they did.

I am aware that the Comedy Central and SciFi episodes have to be piecemealed.

Ah, got it.

Ironically, a lot of the movies Comet plays feel like good fodder for MST3K anyway! (they've even played some that WERE used!)

Exactly why we need networks that air films like that. They are in no way "the worst we can find," but they do have a perverse charm to them.
