ARGH! When are they going to let we kickstarter backers and/or netflix.

..subscribers see the new season!!!???

Im stoked..VERY stoked...that netflix connected with MST3K. I think its a great opportunity and one that, fingers crossed, will keep the show alive for far longer than the run of 14 new episodes.

However.

Im also guessing that connection is why we backers have to continue to wait to see the new season. I know the team is working very hard to create a high quality product however it was supposed to be available around November. My guess is that part of the agreement with netflix is that they are not allowed to share the episodes with the backers, the ones who paid for them, until netflix says so. Poop.

Sorry..not trying to complain. Just jonesin for some Movie Sign with Jonah and the bot's!

I don't want too high of a quality. If the new shows are overly polished, I will be greatly disappointed. It has been over 20 years since Joel has helmed the show. Or really any show. Hopefully Netflix has given him the free rein he had at Comedy Central. And I really hope the majority of the kickstarter money was used buying the rights back from that tool Mallon so that the rest of the show - other than the writing - is done on the cheap.

I want found-object sets that wobble and puppets that accidentally break. There was nothing start-of-the-art about the original. Unfortunately, times have changed so much. And millennials need to stare at ultra-modern technology in order to be interested in it. I am really cautious about who the new incarnation will be trying to appeal to - us old fans or the brain-dead supermajority of single-celled organisms currently masquerading as the citizens of Earth.

Let's see who takes the bait.

yea, it will be interesting to see how the quality angle plays out. I do think it will be overall higher quality cuz joel mentioned something about that during a production update (people watching on HD tvs and whatnot). For me its all about cheezy flicks and great riffing. I think they've put a really good team into place and look forward to it. Im probably most intrigued by the interstitials between Johan Ray .n. Felcia .n. Patton. I think there's some potential for good stuff there.

Question: whats the story on Mallon? you called him a tool. Im a longtime fan of MST3K but dont know alot of behind the scenes.
