USA Network Reruns

Does anyone know if the USA Network reruns from the early '90s were edited? The run time for the USA broadcasts was around 23 minutes.

I do not know for sure, but most sitcoms from that era were cut down by 2 minutes for syndication. Both "Roseanne" and "Cosby" got in trouble because their first season DVD's had the shorter episodes not the orginal extra 2 minutes.

They were slightly cut, but probably not by much. Maybe around a minute or so. It was then that I watched the show, since I never knew about it when it was on ABC. I remember some of the episodes having mid-line or mid-conversation fade-ins following commercials, and some of the episodes were missing the footage prior to the theme song. That is, unless not all episodes HAD footage prior to the theme song!

I caught this when ABC aired this originally and then caught it when USA Networks programming was a lot better than what it is now. You would not dare see a show like this on USA Network on anymore because all USA Network wants to show now is crime and drama shows which I am sick of watching!

All it seems like is every network is doing like "Monkey see monkey do with the crime and drama shows!" No network is willing to be different than the other network like it once was in the past from what I remember.

I loved when I could watch Just The Ten Of Us on USA Network back in the 90's.

I don't remember myself. It is too bad they stopped showing them because it was good to see them.

Somebody could come along and correct me, but I'm pretty sure they were uncut. I know for a fact that the "US A.M." lineup of sitcoms that aired in the late '90s were not edited syndication prints. However, USA has always had a knack for shoving commercial breaks in where they weren't intended, which resulted in a few seconds being shaved off here and there. And, of course, they didn't air any of the original TGIF bumpers with the cast hosting -- USA's bumpers were pretty lame.

When TV Land ran "The Dinner Test" around the turn of the century, I remember thinking there was something missing that aired in the USA print, but I don't think I ever dug out tapes and compared 'em.

I just checked an episode that I taped from USA and cut commercials from -- it clocked in right at 23 minutes, which I think was the network standard in '88.

See when this aired on USA Network that was when the programming on USA Network was a heck of a lot better than what it is now. I mean all they want to show is marathons of the same crime and drama show which I am sick of watching. I can understand setting up a block or two of crime and drama shows but when you over do it and show marathons it gets boring.

That is why I would wished that they would show some good family shows like this or a family block for like 4 hours either in the morning or afternoon when kids get home from school.

Ever since USA Network or the executives allowed NBC to step in and alter all of the programming USA Network I feel has gone down hill and I will not watch it because it bores me to death!

I miss watching USA UP ALL NIGHT late on a Friday and Saturday night and seeing movies that were low budget and cheesy. That was great from 1986 until 1998. I would love to see other shows from the 80's shown on USA Network! That would be great to see I think!

When USA Network aired Just The Ten Of Us the programming was a heck of a lot better than what it is now because I would watch this when it was on USA Network.

I do not think that they really cut out or edited anything really because that was before commercial time was required like it is now.
