I consider myself a big time Nightmare On Elm Street fan and was so looking forward to seeing the first episode of this series after having paid an unreasonably high price for it on eBay.
Boy, I expected something bad, but this was BAD! And the worst part is Tobe Hooper is responsible for this crap (the first episode anyway). Desperate as I was, I got drunk and lost track of the plot. I'll have to check it ou again. Sometime. In the distant future.

The episodes are uneven, the best I've seen so far being "It's A Miserable Life", "Killer Instinct", "Freddy's Tricks & Treats", "Saturday Night Special", "Sister's Keeper", "Rebel Without A Car", "The Bride Wore Red", "Do Dreams Bleed?", and "Love Stinks". Part of the series' appeal is its gaudy lighting and plots that appear to have stemmed from freebasing. I'm inclined to file this under Wonderfully Bad, since no show that features a track meet decapitation, a poor kid's phantom head wound bleeding at inopportune moments, an axe murder dressed like a quarterback, a young woman's desperate childhood fear that her father is going to carve her up like a Thanksgiving turkey, one seriously wackjob Grandma, "Soylent Green"-themed pizza, and a mad sorority pledge going on a killing spree could ever be called unenjoyable.
If you're going into these films expeting them to have the same quality as the movies you are gonna be let down. They are basically just simple, low-budgeted, commun ghost stories that are fun to watch when you're not wanting anything too complex and just wanting a fun scary story.
Certain episodes have deeper plots and I really like them better, 2 that come to mind are Judy Miller, Come on Down, and The End of the World.
Most people see things that are and ask "why?", I dream things that never were and ask, "why not?"
I agree.the episodes were never meant to be in the same standard as the films, most of the series freddy isnt the star, just the narrater.I loved the spooky atmosphere and creepy music.I also like the fact that there were uaually two main characters in an episode and the first half of the story was the nightmares and suffering of character 1. then would switch in the 2nd half to character 2.I think the series is very and sadly underated and deserves alot more credit.anyone agree?
