FREDDY :)
Jesus had days like this...
I like Feddy's Nightmares better, they are more entertaining than the Friday series. I always end up falling asleep when I watch the Friday series.
shareOk, I've heard talk about the Fri 13 series but have never actually seen an eppi. So is it a spin of of the Fri 13 movies like FNs is a spin of of NOES movies? Is it about Jason at all?
Most people see things that are and ask "why?", I dream things that never were and ask, "why not?"
No, it has nothing to do with Jason at all. He's no where in the series, it's just called Friday The 13th. It is mainly like Tales From The Crypt but an hour long and mostly boring.
shareFriday the 13th: The Series had nothing to do with Jason Vorhees or the movies at all. It's about three people and I believe one of them is an antique's dealer or works at an antique joint, two people investigate or something like that, on the origins of the antiques. I don't really know since I never watched the show, but I remember seeing commercials for it.
But, Freddy's Nightmares are based on the Nightmare movies. I just got done watching Freddy's Nightmares: No More Mr. Nice Guy on youtube. They have a few selections there on Freddy's Nightmares. Pretty cool. That was the pilot episode I believe. It tells how Freddy came to be. But, I don't think they did a good job at it.
Yes, I've seen and have all the eppis of Freddy's Nightmare, and I think it's impossible to tie them in with the NOES movies, I think you have to look at them as taking place in an alt. universe apart from the movies, though many people say that's what was going on between Dream Child and Freddy's Dead.

I'm a bigger fan of Friday the 13th the series, even though Freddy's Nightmares come right behind in my favorite list, then Tales From The Crypt and Tales from the darkside.
Friday the 13th the series was about two cousins who take over an old antique store after their distant uncle dies. A few days after selling everything a friend of their uncles comes to warn them that their uncle made a deal with the devil and cursed every single on of the items in the store. For three seasons the main characters found an object each episode and showed how dangerous they were before recovering them and putting them in a vault in the basement. It was a fun series even though it had nothing to do with Jason (Which I think was a good idea)
Freddy's Nightmares shows events in Springwood in-between the films. Even showing how Freddy became the way he did that faithful night all the parents killed him. Every episode is split in half showing two characters somehow linked together by some chain of events and how Freddy or being trapped in strange nightmareish worlds kill them. A little cheap looking and around the time Freddy wasn't as scary, still a fun series to watch, I think this also lasted three seasons.
