dvd boxset

So does anybody know if this will ever make it to dvd or blu ray ?. Where I'm from I can't get in2tv or chiller, I only get Scream tv I've caught a couple episodes on youtube but I would like to watch it on dvd I only remember alittle bit about this show when it was on tv. Hopefully the new movie will bring about the release of Freddy's nightmares and Nightmare on Elm Street on blu ray. I hope

you know what's sad?

i could see them releasing season 1 to coincide with the remake's theatrical or dvd/blu release. but the sales probably wouldnt be good enough for them so they'd never release the 2nd season.

sorta like what disney does CONSTANTLY with their shows.

dont think those actors would want anyone knowing they ever did this show. :P

I just checked ebay and amazon and for whatever reason there was just R2 available. Then I checked and apparantly it's been discontinued.

as far as i know the show's only ever been officially released twice.

once in the early 90s with 5 episodes on 5 VHS tapes.

and then the R2 dvds, they contained 5 or 6 episodes each. i think the plan was to eventually release the whole series but sales sucked so they discontinued after the 2nd volume.

I'd still like to have it myself regardless

What's the matter? You don't think it's funny?

reply

Several other countries(UK, Australia, Germany, etc...) each got 8 VHS releases with 2 episodes from the first season on each. There was ONLY 1 Region 2 DVD release with ONLY the first 3 episodes of season 1. There never was a "2nd volume"

Which would suck, as apart from the first half of the 1st episode, the rest of Season 1 was pretty crap compared to season 2.

It's legit, good set, good quality. great extras. Well worth it.

Well, the set at nightmareonelmstreetfilms isn't legit as in "official," but in the sense that the quality is good and you won't get screwed over on a purchase... And you can get the series with discs jammed full of incredible extras.

As mentioned above, the region 2 DVD was "Volume 1" but the sales weren't good so no further volumes were released. There were also more episodes released on PAL VHS in the UK (their tapes included two episodes each as opposed to the US's 1 ep per tape), and a few were also released on video in Australia.

Here in the USA, fans have been nagging for years, with WB just blowing 'em off. A few years ago, WB gave a statement that the master tapes had deteriorated and restoring them was cost prohibitive... then they promptly released the region 2 disc, made most of the episodes available to watch online (unfortunately they've since pulled the plug on the online versions) and began running them on Chiller. Personally, I'm not expecting to ever see an an official region 1 release.

I found it at a horror convention at one of the tables. It was dubbed off of vhs on to dvd, the crappy part is i left it at an old roommates apt.. i managed to salvaged one of the dvd's.

I KICK MYSELF IN THE ASS FOR IT TOO!!

I wish that New Line would release both full seasons on DVD too. It would make me happy if they did.
