Yes she was that, but she was also quite the opportunist in other areas, too, like the black market. I think a better explanation would be to say she was there to make money - however that would be possible.
shareShe desperatly wanted to get out of America from an immense ammount of emotional and sexual abuse she had endured in her life. As we see in Flashforward episodes towards the end of the run of the show KC was a wealthy business women who had had economic ties to Asian countries.
KC was the most complicated character on the show. John Sacret Young and Marger Helganburger(Sp?) created a sheer masterpiece with KC. Sexiest female character in tv history. Naturally oozing with sex but it was KC's alarming warmth, intelligence and cunning and the trademark cigarette that put her over the top.

As I recall she was a typist.
shareShe was a secretary who turned hooker.
shareI remember a episode where Lila and KC were talking and Lila says something about her being a civillian secretary; and KC says: And I don't even type.
shareShe came over as a "donut dolly" and then became the uber-capitalist.
shareexactly. kc also says "a bunch of lies on a piece of paper. ancient history." This was the episode that had Lila trying to find out who had the initials KC because someones father had passed away; come to find out it was KC's father and her initials stood for Karen Charlene Kalowski.
shareCorrection: Karen Charlene Koloski, daughter of Kurt Charles Koloski.
KC "escaped" America in '65, saying that she was the Civilian Secretary to the US Army. She had been sexually abused as a child by her father, and when she came to 'Nam, she became a saleswoman, selling everything she could, including herself. KC left 'Nam near the end of the war and became a successful business woman later on. She is my favorite television character of all time, she's extremely complicated, yet extremely alluring. Marg Helgenberger played her with such class and raw skill that I'm sure many wonder why she didn't recieve more recognition (a.k.a. more than one emmy) for her superb filling of that role.

I thought she said her father's first name was Turner in that episode.
Minor point, but curious.

I thought she was the Air Force weather girl?
