Age Gap

Maybe it's just me, but after seeing this movie after all these years there appears to be an age gap. Sean Astin seems to be younger in the movie than when he is narrating the story and appears older.

Is it just me?

And just think 12 years later he would be returning to New Zealand to do Lorf of the Rings. Weird.

The actual movie was filmed and wrapped production a couple years prior, but then sat on the shelf for a bit, so the director tweaked the film with "older" Sean Astin's narrorations as a wrap around sequence.

He's supposed to. This is a guy remembering something that happened in the past. Plus, the scenes with him talking were filmed like 2 years later.
