Question about Gordon's commute lol

If I am not mistaken, Gordon's home is in Southampton. Considering that he works in the city everyday, does someone in his situation really commute just about 2 hours each way everyday?

that was just his beach house in Southampton, Long Island. Gekko was based partially on Ivan Boesky who had a luxury apartment in Manhattan on Park Avenue and a home in Bedford, NY - so i'm sure he had other houses closer to his office. and these guys work long hours, have limo drivers, and limos with the latest technology - ie phones, computers, and data feeds to work comfortably while they commute. so a long commute would not be a big deal.
