Why does Dan make a scene when Lynch fires him?
I always thought that this scene was strangely hilarious because the character of Dan is around 60 years of age and basically at the age of legal retirement already, could easily file for retirement and live peacefully off of that and no longer have to work hard in the office Trading Stocks anymore.
Yet he freaks out and makes a scene when Lynch fires him and gives him the boot, instead of just giving in and collecting his stuff, he makes excuses why he should not be fired and how he will be finished on the street despite being old enough to retire, and he whines and complains about how these younger men were edging him out with the computer software and new stuff in the office too.
That guy always makes me laugh, a really pathetic lazy character that is trying to cling on to his job despite being old enough to retire from Wall Street and fade away peacefully, Lynch mentions that he failed to save money and it is obvious that he wasnt selling because he was complaining every scene that he was in, never knew why he just didnt go down to unemployment and get a check or file for retirement because he could, no reason to whine to the boss.
