Just Noticed a BIG Error. . .
"Flaw," "absurdity," or whatever you wanna call it:
The famous ending scene in the courtroom, when the Judge switches the juries, has always been one of the silliest parts of a movie I otherwise like A LOT. Even before I knew anything about courtroom procedures, I Knew that scenario was laughably inaccurate. . .there's just No Way that would ever happen. For *several* reasons. It's just not how any of that works.
BUT.
It's even worse than I thought. . .on my umpteenth viewing the other day, I got to the courtroom scene, and realized: THERE WOULDN'T EVEN BE A JURY THERE.
Federal Tax trials Have No Juries.
(Facepalm).
Ah well. To quote the poet: "Every movie has a fatal flaw." Still love this flick.
