WARDROBE...BY GIORGIO ARMANI???

Giving the production a half dozen suits off the rack to be used in the Capone hotel lobby scenes for background, Armani got its name on the credits and stole it away from the immensely hard-working costumers who were vital to the production.
``"Armani didn`t do a thing,`` Vance-Straker says. ``He never even met a soul on the film except for me.`` She went to Milan to talk with him, through an interpreter, about the wardrobe. Armani donated several suits, many identical, in case they were needed for shoot-out scenes."

In the 1980s there was a lot of cache in having Armani's name as costume designer.

It's that man again!!

But what a dirty, rotten thing to take away credit from the real woman who did a MAJOR costuming job on a period high budget film. And a period high budget film is HUGELY complicated and exacting.
