Opening Credits

I do believe that for the DVD, the opening credits were messed with. If I remember correctly when I saw this in the theater, there was only the music score and the words The Untouchables coming towards the screen. I thought that was so great. But the DVD puts the credits on the screen, which ruins the whole effect.

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

I remember the credits being there in 1987.

Well, you remembered incorrectly. From "Paramount Pictures Presents" to "Directed by Brian De Palma", the credits have always been all there no matter when I first saw it in 1987 or on disc today.
