anybody else notice the boat ride to hawaii plot hole

It's not that big of a deal but I can't believe it's never mentioned anywhere that a boat ride from LA to Hawaii takes at least 3 days and Owen is there and back in less than 24 hours. I don't know if this is a huge plot hole or a just an outrageously ridiculous plot device for comedic affect.

Nah, Margaret's house was in Hawaii and Owen flew there (shown by a brief shot of a jet flying across the screen). The boat was just from one island to another.

Unless I missed it, but it seems weird that Owen's mother would not be suspicious about her smothered wuss of a son suddenly taking a trip to Hawaii and being gone for a day or two.
