' Ann Ramsey was hilarious ! '

I always liked this movie , but I always get so surprised at how well Ann Ramsey played her role. She was supposed to be mean enough to kill and you do end up wishing Danny would just get rid of her, but she is so brilliant that she takes a possible one dimensional character and she makes it her own. She was , at times, over the top, but she was always able to show a little bit of being human that she keeps you into her right up till the end. She was a worthy Oscar nominee.

I totally agree and im glad she was up for an oscar for her excellent and hilarious performance.

I thought it was a pretty brave performance, considering that DeVito's direction is rather cruel towards her as an actress.

Full agree Anne's performance is the only reason to watch this film, she has me in stitches.

Its your turn Heather, no Heather its Heathers turn... Heather!!! ~ Heathers

I had to leave fast when the credits were still going, so I told my brother to watch, didn't say watch for what, didn't have time to - parental units were wandering off, and I had to catch up. When he came out, I asked him.....Who played Momma? Anne Ramsey, he replied.

she was a lot like her character in THE GOONIES

Ann made Momma monstrous, but with a touch of humanity and motherliness to her that made you not really want to see her die. Remember how she loves on Owen when he helps her out? Moments like this made her so much more in the film than just a mean old bat who you don't care about.
