Photo on the News

Over half-way through the movie, they show Owen sitting on the front porch in his pajamas, playing with a train. The front door is open and as they pan into the house, Larry is laying on the floor, on his back. The scene flips to the back of Momma's head as she is flipping around on TV. She goes from a Toys R' Us commercial to the news. Just as she flips on the news, they go to a story about how Margaret is presumed dead and her ex-husband, Larry is missing. They have a picture of Larry up on the screen while they tell this story.

I've seen this movie hundreds of times. Every time I see this scene, I cannot figure out what Larry is doing in the photo. It looks like he is eating or vomiting cake or spaghetti. I can never figure it out.

Can anyone help? It just is irritating that after all these years, I can still never figure that out.
