Jeremy is a Gender Flipped reference to Samantha Smith (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0809858/board/) and I'm still not sure why they felt the need to turn her into a boy character.

His character is kinda similar to her, has anyone who worked on the script ever come out and said she inspired them?
