How Did Laci Survive Outer Space?

Superman and Nuclear Man get a pass because they are superhuman, but how in the world did Laci survive flying into outer space with Nuclear Man when he kidnapped her near end of movie without dying instantly? Last time I checked outer space is a vacuum meaning there is no air, no human could survive without a space suit. Could someone explain this to me?

Lois in the 1st or 2nd movie also went into space with Superman. I dont know anything about Auras but it seemed unrealistic..yeah I know its a fictional comic

Lois in the 1st or 2nd movie also went into space with Superman. >>> Flying over a cloud layer with the night sky above is not flying in outer space, dummy. But it is a bit implausible that he could take Lois too high without that air becoming somewhat thin for her. That protective aura crap that some fans talk about is some of the dumbest trash I have ever heard. When you start giving Superman a protective aura, he becomes much less cool and much more the stuff of fanboy nerds.

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

reply

No, they're dfinitely depicted as being in space. At one point, Nuclear Man isn't holding her firmly enough, and Lacy starts to fall (huh??!) and looks back behind her, and we get a shot of the planet Earth, further away than when viewed from the moon.

I think it's more a case of lazy, dunderheaded filmmakers, who think they can just bung anything in and get away with it because it's a comic-strip movie.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

How did Lois flew with Superman in the first movie only by touching his fingers?

If you know the answer to that question, you will know why Lacy was able to breathe in space while touching the Nuclear Man (and Superman after being rescued while the Nuclear Man was dying)...

Nuclear Man and Superman generate a magnetic field around them, capable of keeping anyone else within the field alive, whether in the vacuum of space, or deep under water.

What I'm wondering, besides the whole "How did she survive?" conundrum, is where was Nuclear Man taking Laci? To the elevator on the moon? LOL

reply

There were a lot of scenes that were cut which show where he was taking her and how they ended up back at Luthor's place.

You took the words right out of my mouth Bradley! I was about to post the same question.

Yeah, it was funny that she was starting to fall like a rock while he just kinda hovered unconscious.

Kinda like with Wile E. Coyote's delayed fall. You only fall when you realize you've ran out of land.

reply

Yep, she should have been floating as well, not falling, since there is no gravity in space. And yes, the first thing out of my mouth is just how is she breathing in space when there is no oxygen.

Ellen McNulty: Oh, go on, I've stepped on better things.

reply

She held her breath. Duh.

But if we're questioning that we have to go back further and question how exactly did Superman know that Nuclear Man was after Lacy?

He literally looks at her face on the cover of the Daily Planet Lex had left on his office desk, decides he fancies a bit of that, then flies over to the Daily Planet. Superman is then literally standing right there waiting for him at the entrance!!

How is such a glaring plot hole even possible in what is otherwise a masterpiece of modern cinema?
