When they visit the amusement park/petting zoo it shows Rhonda in a bumper car. They do not show her in the roller coaster but it is assumed that she went on that too. She is 9 months pregnant. There is NO WAY she will be able to get on either of those rides. If something went wrong the lawsuit would be astronomical.

We've all been to those things and there are even signs telling pregnant women they can't ride.

I wondered the same thing, granted I know 30 years ago everything didn't have the restrictions on it they did but I still doubt they'd let a girl that pregnant drive around the racetrack.

Oh yes they did! I was a kid in the '60's and nothing has changed much since then. Even back then they had the height, age/heart condition and preggo requirements. That was beyond 30 years ago.

Dr would have been smoking a cigarette during birth. Lawsuits in the 80s. People took responsibility for their own actions

I worked at a small amusement park in the 80s running the running the bumper boat and personally put a wheelchair girl in a boat. Man, she could have drowned why did they let a teen run that kind of ride. Just thought I would share my story.

Look, this whole movie was *beep* to begin with. I don't think they even considered reality when they made this film. That was the last thing from Carl Reiner's mind. I think he just wanted to direct a film because he had nothing else to do.

Good point, that never dawned on me after all these years. Heck I just watched it last night and didn't notice that.

So a good movie after all these years. Still holds up pretty well.
