Good Film...

but I've seen a bit better. There were a lot of long shots of people talking, and not enough cutaway reaction shots. The ending, I do agree, was a bit unbelievable, but at the same time - if someone knows the capabilities of their 'boss' when angry, and this someone carries a gun for protection as well.... well, ya get him into a frenzy of fear of their boss, they just might shoot in defense. MAY be possible, but who knows really.

Either way I thought it was pretty good. I liked Kathy Baker's performance as well as Morgan Freeman's.

Chris Reeve, as usual, didn't amount as much as he did as "Superman" with his dual personalities/mannerisms, but he did do very good.

At least in this Reeve film, whom I bought it for without having seen it before hand, the boom mic wasn't seen every 15 minutes. :)

Good points, and I found the lack of the boom refreshing as well.

This was moderately entertaining, but it could have been better. Morgan Freeman was fantastic (<------ that's the first time I've written that sentence, by the way). Kathy Baker was her usual competent self, and Chris Reeve was adequate though his character was severely underwritten.

My main problems with the film was the general lack of plausiblity: Incompetent journalist writes a bogus feature on a fake pimp, his editors don't bother to do any fact-checking or even ask any questions, he inexplicably becomes a TV reporter despite having no skills in that field either, he befriends a pimp and hooker who have every reason not to trust him, and an incompetent attorney thinks the fake story was about his client.

Still, I was never bored. 6/10 stars based on entertainment value.
