Didn't find it that funny

I liked Another Stakeout, so I thought the first one would be a lot funnier. I actually think the action sequences were way better, but I found 95% of the humor to be really bland and undirectional. I guess my opinion is that they shouldn't have pursued a comedy direction since they did it so poorly. Ignoring the fact that it's suppose to be a comedy, it's not that bad of a film. The soundtrack is much better in the original though. The film won major browny points with me by featuring "Is This Love" by Mr. Mister at the end (personal favorite).

The only parts I found to be memorably funny are when Dreyfus gets mad at the grocery clerk for comenting on how he eats between meals, and when Dreyfus tells the FBI agent "I forgot to call you" after killing the suspect. What parts did you guys find to be funny?

The thing is, it's not a farce, so the humour is subtle, but definitely there and funny at times. It's more about the mood, which is genuinely feel good, and the script works perfectly from beginning to end. Plus the actors are great in their roles. Just enjoy the experience, rather than worrying about how many times you laugh out loud.

It's obviously not meant to be just a comedy, and when it does do comedy, most of it is not in an over-the-top, absurdist mode.

I love this movie! Some of it is funny but it probably shouldn't be classified as comedy. Actually a good pretty heavy, crime action drama whatever. Much of the lighter comic stuff is along the lines of cops interacting/stress release behavior which we've seen on other dramatic shows or movies that also weren't comedies. So still not really comical even if it gets the laughs.
