why does bill get called chris by other cop?

why does bill get called chris when he plays the pranks on the other 2 cops by putting that cat in thier car then then chris turns up but then one of the copper guys go ill get u for that chris or something like that but didnt see him look at chris just at bill then we see bill laughing at the window and chris looking up laughing at him.......does anyone rember that scene if you do play it again ull know what i mean any anwsers would be great thanks.mike

i think he just said "i'll get you for THIS" or something like that

His character name is Chris. He calls himself Bill in front of Madeline Stowe so that he doesn't blow his cover. That's part of the reason his fellow cops don't recognise him when they had the recording of her calling him.

Hmmm. I'll have to watch that one again more closely b/c there is no reason for them to be mad at Chris. I think the earlier poster had it right. I think the cop said "I'll get you for THIS", not "I'll get you CHRIS".
