C'mon it's not great but it's not a piece of *beep* either. Christ I think I'm the only one that seen this movie in the theater when it opened.

Wow, you actually saw this in the theater? How many were there in the audience? I don't even remember it playing, but I did see it on video.

reply

Yeah, I actually saw this movie in the theater. Very Small theater here in Pittsburgh. I don't think it was released in too many theaters nationwide but because Keaton's from Pittsburgh a few theaters got it here. The theater was filled but A.) it was a very small room, and B.) it was opening night.

I don't think the film lasted there into the next week to be totally honest. It was a flop, but I never thought it was all that bad a movie - not good by any means but not all that bad.

I saw it in the theater! I saw it the day it came out because I was in it. While going to school at UNCW and I worked in a few movies as an extra. I am visible in two films, this one and Weekend at Bernie’s. Casting liked me because I was a plain canvas they could dress up and I was "Chesty" before boob jobs became so common. Before you went to audition as an extra you would try and find out what scene they were shooting and the look they needed. When I went down to Fincannon Casting for this audition I had on tight black clothes, bare midriff, and killer thigh high black spike heeled boots. Add to this big 80's hair with a Madonna punk twist and they loved it. I freaked them out when I showed up for the extras hair and make-up in a polo shirt and sneakers. I had brought my boots and the outfit so they were happy. They did some outrageous hair and make-up then decided my costume was not revealing enough. I was even offered $100 to go braless. I assured them I could get the look they wanted better with the bra and some safety pins. I am the blond punker in black at the start of the bar door scene as am opening shot as Michael Keaton walked by. It took forever because Rae Dawn Chong kept blowing her bar door scene. Did I mention that I always ended up doing summer scenes, while wearing skimpy clothes, in cold weather? Michael Keaton chatted with me and two other girls in our shot for over an hour. He was great doing his two shots on cue and getting us out of a cold drizzle after a long night. He was nice too and told us we looked like the Bangles all done up like that. What can I say, after that night I am fan for life! It is different in Wilmington now with people making a living by doing extra work professionally. When I was doing extras work it was a casual place without all the Hollywood baggage. Most of the well known actors liked it in Wilmington, because locals left them alone or treated them with the same courtesy they gave us. It was a fun way to get paid minimum wage to sit around and study while you waited.

Where did you see it in a theater? I thought maybe it only opened in theaters here in Pittsburgh because Keaton is from here. I know it didn't run for more than two weeks here...it really bombed.

I was goiing to school in wilminton NC. That was where it was filmed. I saw it there on the first day. Good thing too because it was gone fast.

It's not as bad as Jack Frost.

Speechless (1994)
Quicksand (2003)

Much, much, MUCH worse movies (and that's without counting in the ones from 2000's where he doesn't play the main roles).

This still has some 80's charm to it.
