To me it was the only stupid part of the script. It was ridiculous to have him do that.
shareHe's a teenager in love. His concept of the value of money is not quite there. He thought the way to her heart was by spending money on her. She hung out with all the rich kids even though she was not rich. So of course he assumed money was what she liked in a guy. Not all teenagers are like this but, it does make sense 😊
