Why didn't Hardy slap Amanda back?
Don't take that sh!t from the stupid bitch, man.

Because, even as low life, scum sucking, bottom dweller slime ball he had enough class to know, you don't hit girls.
If she were beating him to a bloody pulp, that would be one thing, but a slap like that, really doesn't hurt more than your pride.

Uh no. He was a p***y. He was scared to hit her back because he knew the guys had her back and would beat the living *beep* out of him. He was all talk (i.e. calling her trash, and already used). He was a classless prick.
Hardy (What kind of name is that?) was a dick, but in his defense, I hate women who hit men, hoping that the man would lose his temper and hit them back and hide behind social preconceptions that paint them as harmless victims. I've seen it happen too many times before. Hell, I once got beat up by two guys because my female companion was causing trouble and threw a drink in one of their faces. I had done nothing but try and stop her.
"Why do you say this to me when you know I will kill you for it?"
cob - I agree. I have a 15 year old son who has seen other teen boys getting slapped or hit or kicked (sometimes for fun & sometimes because they mean it) by teen girls. Here's the thing - I'm a girl ... if I hit anyone (whether another girl or a guy) I should expect to be hit back. I get tired of seeing such double standards in society.

As am I. I've even seen them at work. In one of my previous jobs, women were exempt from lifting things, yet they got paid the same as men. It would have made more sense to exclusively hire men. Hell, a couple of those girls had to have had more muscle than me.

cob - my husband says the same thing about where he works. It's not actual "policy" that women aren't supposed to be lifting things, but it's implied that the men will usually do the heavy lifting instead of the women.

You do make a good point. It's very true that women were considered 2nd class citizens (and probably still are considered that by some men.)
But to allow the double standard to go on is not fair to the younger generation of boys. I have a 15 year old son who does not deserve the double standard. I also have an ex-bro-in-law who is suffering from the double standard. He has full custody of my teenage niece, yet my sister gets their entire 401K (about $108,000) and gets paid $500 a month (alimony) for 2 years. She gets out of paying child support! Yes, she's my sister, but it really irks me that there is such double standard with the law! (He had a crappy lawyer lol.)

Luckily, girls don't hit him lol. He's actually asked that question regarding hitting someone back (even a girl). I've told him to avoid the situation if he's able to, but if it's something he cannot avoid, then walk away and find an adult. (If someone walks up & slaps or punches him, walk away ... find an adult.)
But if someone has him on the ground & is beating the crap out of him where he HAS to defend himself, then defend himself without doing damage (in other words defend himself enough to get away.) ... Luckily, he's got a very easy going type of personality and doesn't let small things bother him.
Oh, definitely on my bro-in-law needing a better lawyer. I was shocked when I heard what their settlement was lol.

I agree regarding not hitting the ground. It is so hard telling your child (well, in his case teenager) how to defend himself without getting into trouble. One good thing about him, though, is he's always been pretty tall and well built, so no one tends to mess with him. He's also pretty quiet and has a laid back personality, so he blends in well with all types lol.
He says there's a lot of fights at the school he attends. What aggravates me is both kids get in trouble, even if it's clear on the video surveillence (sp?) that one started the fight and the other was just defending him/herself. Unfortunately, it's like that in just about every school.

The trick to not getting caught is naming the place and time.

lol ... that's a perfectly good question. He does ... both of us tell him this stuff, but I'm just more vocal about it lol. Usually, we're in the same room when he gets "the talk." I just tend to "talk" more lol. I guess a lot of times I forget to put "we."
(I love your screen name btw ... and you're signature line - is that from a movie?)

My favorite genre is horror. I admit to being a horror-junkie lol. And you?

I'm not too picky with my movies, although I usually am not crazy for the artsy fartsy ones either (usually they're too boring for me) lol. Usually it just depends on what mood I'm in.

No, I didn't even know about it ... I love that movie. One of the Encore channels has been airing 80's movies the past couple of days (including Some Kind of Wonderful), but they haven't included 16 Candles, which is one of my favorites out of the 80's and favorites of all time.

Yeah, I agree regarding St Elmos Fire being one of least favorites out of the 80's. It's so much fun to rewatch the movies out of the 80's (esp. John Hughes). It brings back good memories (except for being a fashion victim at times in the 80's).

Thank you! I've watched the movie a trillion times, but I never could remember his character's name.
