Best Line?

'Go get your scag and let's go.' -Watts. Best line in the film!!

Great flick, loved it when I was 14 when it came out and still love it watching it today on one of the movie channels. Elias Koteas is a great bonus in this film. Yes the characters all look older than teenagers, but most films (and tv!) have always been like that. Remember Luke Perry and Ian Ziering and the character Andrea in 90210.. I remember being a senior in high school and luke perry looked 30 to me. I also loved Craig Sheffer when this came out.. as I had been in love with him since Fire With Fire. SIGH... teenage angst in the 80s.. gotta love it. Good memories!!

Many of the best lines are by Watts:

"Rat bait."

"Get your skag & let's roll."

"Break his heart, I break your face."

"It was this morning, moron....of course I remember!"

"Do you wanna die young?"

But these were also right up there:

"This is what my girlfriend looks like without skin." (Duncan)

"You look good wearing my future." (Keith)

reply

Stupid girl in locker room: Are those boy's underpants?
Watts (mimicing her): Yeah, so
Sgilr: I've never seen a girl wearing boys underpants
Watts: Ever seen a girl with a drumstick shoved up her nose?

reply

"Don't go mistaking paradise for a pair of long legs."

MSM kills every one liner she had as Watts. She made the movie.

I am just too much.
-Bette Davis

reply

Watts: You break his heart, I break your face.

And pretty much everything that Skinhead says.

I could have held you in my arms forever, and it still wouldn't have been long enough.

reply

Trying from memory: "I was hanging with you fungi in a vain attempt to chill you out, but All I'm getting is breeze. So cest la vie."

reply

I'd rather, not see you, and have you think good things about me. Than see you, and have you hate me.
I wish I was smart enough to take that advice a few times!

reply

I am also voting for; "where's the effing money Keith"
Keith says " I thought your ass was too precious for vinyl"

and that kid Watts is using to try to make Keith jealous says a lot of good lines
some are;
"a lot of the guys think you are confused and if you tried you could be a girl like that!"
she says "this is the 80's a girl can be anything she wants"
he says " I know, my mom's a plumber'

He says; "do you know how much damage we can do to each other in an hour?"
she says; It's kind of a revolting thought."
he says: "really? what's revolting mean?"

such a great film. I miss John Hughes. I hate to say it but Molly must be devastated about the choices she made in life. Karma can be cruel but She is just.

"Mom's gonna fix it all soon. Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it oughta be."

reply

Keith: You can't judge a book by its cover.
Watts: But you can tell how much it's gonna cost.

Everything that Watts and Duncan said were amazing. I actually really like this film more than Pretty in Pink.

"Help me make the music of the night~"

reply

And the line right after Ray says his mom is a plumber, when Watts says "That explains a lot about you Ray".

reply

Best line comes from the scene when Watts is shootin dice with the busboys in the back of the restaurant.

Busboy: "To win big, ya gotta do what"?
Other busboys (in unison):"Lose"
Busboy: "Lose big"
Busboy: And what are we doing now"?
Busboys (in unison): "Losin big!"

"Ray, it's 1987. Did you know that a girl can be anything she wants to be?"

"Listen very carefully. I shall say this only once."

reply

I liked it when Leah Thompson said to the bully at school "Get your filthy meat hooks off of me"

reply

Wrong film - that was Back to the Future.

reply

"I'm looking for that song about the guy who killed himself over the girl who hated his guts."

reply

Excellent choice Camel, and that line also serves as some great foreshadowing for the rest of the film.

reply

Dad: "I didn't know about this."

Keith: "How could you? You're my father."

I'm happiest...in the saddle.
