One horrible horror movie. One funny comedy. Some gory effects and somy bad acting. That's it. Bottom line: just ignore it, accept when you're with some friends and you want to see some very, very, very, low budget and gory horror film. Yuk!
I agree. "Slugs" is an absolute riot. The crummy dubbing, insipid characters, flat direction, pokey pace, godawful acting, truly ridiculous premise, and especially those gloriously excessive gore set pieces qualify it as one of the all-time single most deliciously cheesy killer animal fright films to ever ooze onto celluloid. I give it bonus points for the oh-so-80's "have sex and die" cliche; you know those horny teens had to become slug food because they did the dirty deed strictly for the pleasure of it.
I actually don't understand why this movie has so low ratings. Sure, plot is kind of silly and acting isn't that good (though 10x better than e.g. Night of the living dead). However, the gore is actually quite pleasant! I was very positively surprised. If you like gore, you'll definitely enjoy some scenes and it's definitely worth watching.
