World Trade Center

I saw this movie years ago and vaguely remember a scene where the characters are jogging on the top of the World Trade Center. Does this ring any bells?

They weren't jogging on the roof of the World Trade Center. I know this because it doesn't look like the WTC (and I've lived in the NY my whole life) and the building they're jogging on is right next to Central Park -- The WTC wasn't. ;)

reply

Agreed.

They were jogging on a track at the top of the building they all worked in, not the WTC.

reply

I work in that building.. it's on Lexington Avenue and 53rd Street.. Midtown Manhattan..

I always find it quite emotional now whenever I see movies that even feature the WTC, because your mind just immediately wanders back to that crappy day in september 2001.

Working Girl and Trading Places being the biggest examples.

you know, one thing I noticed, although I am not 100% sure, is that it didn't seem like there was any guardrail on that roof, which means that someone could fall off the roof if they fell

did anyone else notice that?

reply

Noticed that too.

reply

There was a guard rail. It's hard to see in the birdseye shots but it's there.

reply

lol They had fullshots it's NOT the WTC'S

reply

Yeah, that's a lot of the reason why they edited it out of a lot of movies, due to people being over sensitive about it.

reply

Of course no one outside the U.S. gives a damn for what dumbass censorship.

Its stupid that they cut that stuff out now. What happened happened, hollywierd made a *beep* movie about it already. get over it.

There is a guard rail but its very low and i remember thinkin how someone could still easily fall off.

Can anyone tell me of any examples of movies or tv shows where the twin towers were edited out? Just out of interest. I agree that when I glimps pictures or video with them in I do think to that time, but i think is wrong to edit out their existance.

Ps. love this film, think I love Working Girl a little more though

Yes, I've seen them in a few of the "yuppy"-era movies, especially. Robert Redford movie "The Hot Rock" or "How to Steal a Diamond in Four Uneasy Lessons" (as it's named on IMDB) has a helicopter view of the towers. It was filmed in the summer of 1971 and the second tower was still incomplete.

Don't forget the first Wall Street with Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. I believe they actually WORKED in the WTC.
