Needs a sequel or a remake?

This movie deserves at least a remake with better special effects with a touch of a top-notch CGI. Though, not the new Tron CGI-like. Either they remake this or a sequel with a story line set after 25yrs of the Running Man event, an old Ben Richards training a newbie.... a young drifter... Vin Diesel.

Hello,

there is already a better version of this story:

The Millions Game / Das Millionenspiel (1970)

You should watch this - it is much better than "Running Man".

With all the numerous movies similar in theme in recent years (there were also a good number before Running Man), and The Hunger Games being such a big hit, I don't think they're gonna have a major release for yet another story about a violent competition in a dystopian setting.

I think it's a great time for a remake for this movie. The time is right. Only if they get it right though, then it might turn out a big hit. They just need to do it right, without freaking shaky cam, no quick-cut editing, and no bad music. If they get at least those things right, then it's already a success in my book. And of course they will need a good leading man for the role. But where are the great action heroes of the today? There are none really. I don't see anybody for the role of Ben Richards. Jason Statham? Give me a break. Arnie is unrepeatable.
