Martins best ???!!

Now I've seen all of Steve Martins films and I hear a lot of people calling it his best. Now I'll say I love "Roxanne" but I can't say it his best EVER. I respect all opinions but I have to say "The Jerk" is pure Gold and his greatest movie. If you look today and the past 20 years they have been making films that are based on the template for "The Jerk". It's a times less classic that I know generations have loved and will continue to love. "Roxanne" is very good and I'm a big fan but his best performance IMO and most people I talk to goes to "The Jerk".
"He hates the cans" lolol

For me it's Planes,Trains and Automobiles

I enjoyed 'Roxanne,' but I don't need it in my home collection. I would say that either 'All of Me' or 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' would be Steve Martin's best movies.

Planes, Trains is definitely Martin's best (imo), but this movie is his second best film. He's tremendous in Roxanne. I like how it's a romance film but it's neither awkward to watch or melodramatic. Martin really gave this movie the right tone.

Roxanne is an amazing movie, and it’s certainly in Mr. Martin’s top five. I’d place Parenthood and Planes, Trains and Automobiles ahead of it. L.A. Story would be at number four, just after Roxanne, with The Jerk rounding out his top five.
