Nasal surgery?
I caught this movie half way through (I've seen it before) and don't remember the reason why he couldn't have a new nose. Can someone fill me in?

shareBecause he was allergic to anesthetics. Although, that seems like a poor excuse. You'd think he hated his nose so much, he would have put up with doing surgery without anesthetics.
shareAnd takes the chance of dying from shock? The body has specific reactions.to pain that cannot be over come by will alone. Are you very young, uneducated or just naive? No surgeon would take a chance like that. If s/he did, they'd lose their license.
Weigh the outcome: New nose against death.
Having said that, there are new anesthetics since 1987 when this film came out. CD could probably have his surgery now.
Bored now.
Yes, but in his case, all they'd have to do is cut off the elongated tip of his nose. It's a relatively simple rhinoplasty. They could probably get by with local. He could have the surgery done where a Dr. could legally perform it. It's pronounced "rhinoplasty" not "rinoplasty". Are you just young, uneducated, or really naïve?
shareIt's a movie. They had to have a reason why he didn't get a nose job.
The allergy to anesthetics is as good as any. I thought this movie was sweet and charming, probably the best comedy Steve Martin has done.
I remember watching Martin on SNL when it first began. He was so hilarious, so inventive. Those were great times.
Nasal surgery? Is that for surgeons with no hands or something?
