Couple of questions
I can't understand certain things, so I have to ask a couple of questions.
Why can Robocop fight against the directives? He says 'I am not arresting you anymore' - what does that mean? Does he plan to become a murderer, and if so, how can he just ignore directive three (Uphold the law)?
Why can't he do the same with directive four (something about not being able to arrest an OCP member)? I mean, if he can just murder someone and not care about directive three, why would directive four bind him in the end?
Why can he disobey anything anyway - is it because his 'soul awokened' or something? Why does this never apply to directive four?
Why doesn't Robocop shut down, when directive four is supposed to shut him down? He just becomes 'slightly less mobile and a bit jittery for awhile', and that's all. He could just as well have shot 'Richard' before the boss fired him. Would he be 'shut down' before he can shoot? Can the directive be faster than his trigger finger?
Is the 'thought of shooting/arresting' someone enough to trigger the directive 4? What has to actually occur, and how does the program figure it out?
If his 'soul' can keep the system from shutting down, then what is he worried about, couldn't he just act against directive four anyway?
If his 'soul' can't keep the system from shutting down, then WHY DOES HE NOT SHUT DOWN? Shouldn't Richard be a bit more worried when Robocop never actually shuts down? Why say he's gonna shut down when he isn't?
He should either shut down completely or not, this weird 'I'll move randomly for awhile and then I am ok'-crap is just a weak cop-out and disobeying your own movie rules.
Why is the corporation's name 'Omni Consumer Products', when policy enforcing (or being a peace officer) isn't really 'consumer product' of any kind?
Why does he react so strongly to the 'family stuff', if he can't even remember them?
Why doesn't he just surrender to the cops that start shooting at him?
Why do COPS start shooting at ANYTHING without yelling some commands, identification, etc. first? Isn't that unlawful?
What would've happened if he had surrendered? I mean, he entered the building as a COP, didn't he? Then more cops arrive, how come the cops are suddenly the enemy? And isn't there REALLY anyone else that cares about truth, justice, lawfulness and Robocop, but only the 'typically-hollyweird-tough female protagonist' (as unrealistic as she is)?
Why don't the cops follow Lewis and Robocop?
Why doesn't the car get demolished by all the bullets that the cops shoot at it FROM A SHORT RANGE? Is it because it's OFF-CAMERA?! (How lazy)
Look at how much they are able to shoot at Lewis' car at short range when she picks up Robocop! No car would take that kind of punishment and continue to be operational. WHy doesn't it blow up, like everything always does in hollyweird movies when shot or .. never mind, I guess this movie makes no sense.
