ITV edited showing (probably only relative to UK members)

I first saw Robocop on vhs when I was 7 at a friend's house. Years later when it was shown on ITV it was insane how many cuts and edits were made. We had a running joke in school (and later through my early working life) of quoting the edited version.

What are some that others remember?

My personal favourites were:

Bob Morton during the hookers/grenade scene: "Ladies leave!"

Bearded guy holding up liquor store: "Why me!? Why me!?"

And the worst and most pointless, during the scene where Clarence has Murphy pinned down and asks "You probably don't think I'm a very nice guy do ya?" Murphy says "Buddy, I think you're scum" but in the edit he says "Buddy, I think you're slime"

Ridiculous!

I recall the "rape" scene being so heavily edited, it made no sense.
As they cut out most of the attack and trimmed the guy getting shot in the nards.

It basically showed 2 guys chasing the woman, cutting to her being held, cutting to Robocop turning up, cutting to Robo shooting, cutting to the guy already in the floor.

I used to love these TV edits as they were hilarious.
It's a shame they show film (mostly) uncut now as I miss those days.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

He says slime in the original.

I had forgotten all about these edits, anyone know if these cut versions are online?

Yes remember seeing this on ITV around 1995 it was butchered beyond belief!
I remember the Bob Morton character saying "don't give me that baloney" which is "don't give me that *beep* in the uncut version.

'Welcome to primetime bitch!'

I remember Clarence saying to Dick, "Your company built the ****ing thing, and now I got to deal with it! I don't have time for this bull****!"

In the TV edit, he said "Your company built the freaky thing, and now I have to deal with it! I don't have time for this baloney!"

Also, when Emil staggers out into Clarence's path after being melted with the toxic waste, Clarence swerves and misses him.

The ITV edit was one of the worst things i had ever seen, it would probably be quite funny to see it now but it made me so angry at the time.

"once i even called him....airhead"😂

yes---that's the one I remember!

The heavily edited ITV version was very funny for all the wrong reasons---shame it has never turned up as an extra on dvd/ blu-ray

Leon after dropping all that scrap metal on Robo:

"Die, you blackguard!!!"

Way to bring back an already archaic insult in futuristic Detroit!

Oh, I remember those! They were classic!! :-D Annoyed me at the time, but so funny in retrospect.

The other film that got the same treatment was Aliens. I remember the best one was when Hudson talks about greasing Burke, and says something like "I say we grease this rat-fvkc sunnuva bitch right now!" which I think was changed to "I say we grease this rat bastard right now!" That, and there was a great edit with the "Game over, man! Game over! Now what the fvkc are we supposed to do?!" I can't remember the edit on that, but they were both so funny because the dubbed voices were blatantly different. :-D

The last thing I saw was The Bill before it went into its terminal mad phase. (I had to stop watching, because every time I saw it, Sun Hill got blown up.)
