Anyone ever wonder how Dick and Clarence met?

I always found it fascinating how the film has 2 very evil people from different ends of the spectrum (gangster and corporate). I used to wonder how they originally met and how, considering they're from such different lifestyles.



Something I've never thought of before but what benefit does Jones get by working with Boddicker? Why'd they start working together?

Well, Jones did hire Clarence to kill Bob Morton right? Jones couldn't really do that himself. Who knows, Jones might have gotten Clarence to do other hits in the past, which probably could have aided him climbing the corporate ladder.

Jones is corporate and needs muscle to do his dirty work without getting into any trouble so he uses Clarence Boddicker as his #1 guy to handle his "light work". Probably saw how evil Clarence was and met with him somewhere (in an alley or somewhere) and gave him the proposition to secretly work under him.

Aside from obviously killing Bob Morton for him, Clarence Boddicker and his gang did commit numerous cop-killings in Old Detroit. I know it's not blatantly stated or explained in the movie, but I'm certain that in the world of this movie...that Dick Jones also requested for Clarence Boddicker to start an all-out war against the police force of the struggling city of Detroit, creating a high crime rate that will further run it into the ground and also...proving how inefficient the police officers are. The human police officers, that is. Hence, why Jones would want to unveil his plans for the ED-209 unit to be used for Law Enforcement and secure his takeover of the entire police force of Old Detroit, paving the way with one more step closer to turning Old Detroit into Delta City.

I would assume that they were connected through a third-party, at a time when Dick needed something dirty done, and stayed in contact for obvious reasons.
