The Principal or Class of 1984?

"YAAFM, Thank you. Thank you."
Try 1955's The Blackboard Jungle with Glenn Ford guys, and forget the other two as 80's inferior remakes
Growing old is mandatory, Growing UP is optional
'Take a look at my face... I am the future!' - Alice Cooper (end song from Class of 1984)
Both similiar movies. But only one has Gosset Jr.
"Blackboard Jungle" - it might be less violent (but still heavy for the mid-fifties) but it captured the problems of a multi-ethnical society, music as a form of expression of a particular youth culture, and most important of all the fears and the despair of the post-war youth.
But I also watch "The Principal" and "Class of 1984" every now then. I liked Belushi back in his heyday, he was really cool back then; and Perry King IMHO is pure eye candy.
Class of 1984.
Yeah sure it's a "worse" movie if you're an Academy Award voter or whatever, but it has more of that irresistible over the top B-movie charm going for it.
Don't get me wrong, both flicks are pretty entertaining, but these days Class of 1984 gets a lot more repeat viewings. And it's an absolute riot of a movie to show to friends for the first time
But the end of the day, there's really no wrong answer here
The slave begins by demanding justice and ends by wanting to wear a crown
I like both, but i choose "The Principal"
Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.
The Principal, all the way. 84 has that grungy "The Warriors" type of vibe almost, and more violence and of course titties. I can see those things making it seem more "Edgy". But honestly Principal is just a much better film all around.
