What gaming system and game is the child playing in the first scene?
shareI recognize the controller. Spectravideo Quick shot joystick. The console was not shown . But it was most likely an Atari console because the controller was only compatible with Atari systems and some computers.

What gaming system and game is the child playing in the first scene?
The game is called Hardball. I used to play it on my Commodore Amiga aeons ago. It was a pretty decent little baseball game, and my brother and I spent countless hours playing it.
The version I played was a bit higher tech version, but this one is closer to the movie one:
