The princess was worthless in the Fire Swamp

While Westley was fighting with the rodent. She just stood there the whole time. The only time she started doing something is when she was being attacked.

For someone who so called really cares for Westley, she didn't show it much there. At least pass him his sword.

I totally agree. That scene always amused me. Especially when right after exiting the fire swamp, Buttercup says 'We did it!' She did nothing!

She IS a princess. Probably not a whole lot of experience with scary things. :)

Yes, this frustrated the hell out of me while watching the scene where Wesley is being bitten into by a *totally preoccupied and vulnerable* Rodent of Unusual Size and has a deadly sword lying on the ground inches away and instead just stands there watching her true love in horror, waiting for him to die...

I was just like DO SOMETHING YOU USELESS GIRL!!!!!

My how movies have changed, the whole "girls are helpless and in need of rescue" thing would never stand in a movie made today, especially as blatantly as that one scene.

Yes, was that meant to be intentionally funny! She couldn't have been more useless.

Overall I wasn't very impressed with her, except for when she jumped out of the boat. I like to think if the movie were made today she would have more substance?!

There's a part of me that agrees but then there's the part of me that recognises she was supposed to be the typical fairy tale 'Damsel in distress'. I dunno I think I'm a bit torn over her character!

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.
