Lord of the rings?

So in the movie there is the son of the anti-god, or source of all evil in the universe, whose essence is encased in a forgotten relic that was lying dormant for thousands of years. The anti-God used to rule the universe but was banished to another realm, and can only break free with the help of its son. A group of students and a priest realize they must prevent this from happening, and an advanced superhuman was sent with messages to help them stop it. Some of the characters are corrupted and possessed by this essence of evil.

In Lord of the Rings there is a Dark Lord who is the “son” of a great evil force that used to rule the universe. The evil force was banished to another realm, and the “son’s” essence is trapped in a forgotten relic that has been lost for thousands of years. The “son” needs only for the relic to be released for darkness to rule the world again. A wizard and a few other people realize they must prevent this from happening, the wizard is also an advanced higher being sent with messages on how they can stop it. Some of the characters are corrupted and even possessed by this essence of evil.

At the end of both stories, one of the characters jumps into a portal/lake of fire with the essence of evil to seal it from our world forever.

Ergo, PoD = LOTR

And where do the Orcs and Elves fit into Prince of Darkness. Or the Silmaril? Or Gollum? Ergo, smug and completely unjustified bullshit.

You do realize that TLOTR was published decades before POD was made, right?

I made the same mistake with The Mist by Stephen King and Half Life the pc game. I forgot the book came out way before Half Life, lol.
