Schrödinger's cat
Something I've recently realized....
Earlier in the film, Catherine and Walter(iirc) are walking on campus when she starts discussing Schrödinger's cat. Then she ends up making her sacrifice near the end of the film and getting stuck in Limbo.
So, doesn't that now make her a real example(within the context of the movie in any case) of this physics thought experiment? She's in a box/container(Limbo) and no one knows whether she is alive or dead until they open the "box" and observe her. Which makes Carpenter's ending all that more appropriate if this is what he intended.
A nozh scrap any time you say.
