Why did the Predator kill Poncho?


He was wounded and unarmed.

Wasn't being unarmed, the reason it didn't kill Anna?

I don't know if this was an error on the filmmaker's part, but if you look closely in the chopper at the end you can see a head (looks like Poncho's @ 1:42:14). I'm sure the filmmaker's eventual intention was to kill him off, but I've always wondered if they originally intended for him to survive, or maybe he did survive since the same type of energy blast that hit Poncho simply injured Dutch.

I always figured it was because he was slowing Dutch down and therefore preventing the Predator from engaging him in combat. The Predator wanted to face off with Dutch unencumbered with caring for his injured teammate.
