Neal should've asked Del to share his room first rather than worrying about Del

When Neal and Del spent the night in the El Rancho Motel in Planes Trains And Automobiles I felt so sorry for Neal because what he should've done was ask Del to share his room rather than seeing Del freezing cold in the car and he should've gone outside to bring Del in and keep him warm and to keep him company. Because he was wrong to try to phone home when the motel telephone was locked in the first place. But at least Neal was nice enough to let Del finally share his room so they could talk and have fun eating snacks. Now that's the sign of a great friendship

Well, the whole point that Del was driving him nuts and he finally got to be alone. But his conscience finally got the better of him and he couldn't stand to think of Del out there in the cold, especially seeing as how the room situation was different than the original room they stayed in (separate beds and all.) Then it became a night of fun and good memories (the mini alcohol bottles and storytelling), rather than bad situations (hot water shutoff, lying on a wet, beer-covered bed) and embarrassing moments (waking up... a bit too close to each other in the morning lol).
