Hawk/Hawks

Seriously is this the only movie in history where they can't decide what the main character's last name is? LOL.

reply

Hahaha I'm sure in Death Wish 3 for some reason Kersey is called Kimble for the first 20 minutes

Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. same as it ever was.

Think it may have been a change of heart. They may have started out with Hawkes but decided Hawk sounded better, or the truck had the wrong name painted on so they had to!

It's that middle bit from the scene where Stallone tries to see Michael at Cutler's house through to the jail visit that he's called Hawkes. Everyone including Stallone and Loggia, use Hawkes in these scenes.

If these scenes were filmed first, it would explain.

Bull Hurley messed it up early in the movie too calling him Hawkes during the showdown at the Truck Stop , watching this on Cable lately

reply

Exactly.

And then of course there's Keith Richard/Richards.

I have never heard anybody mispronounce Keith Richards before. Dude is a rock and roll icon. I'm pretty sure everybody who knows who he is knows how to say his name correctly.

This is from Wikipedia, but you can find it via many sources: "After the Rolling Stones signed to Decca Records in 1963 their band manager, Andrew Loog Oldham, dropped the s from Richards' surname believing 'Keith Richard' in his words 'looked more pop'.[19] In the early 1970s Richards re-established the s in his surname."

The reference they give for that (the "19" in brackets) is Victor Brockis' biography of Keith Richards.

If you look at the credits on early Stones albums, you'll see "Richard". For example: http://www.rollingtom.se/Image/Album/Out%20Of%20Our%20Heads/DSC02818.j pg (Remove the spaces from the url--IMDb automatically inserts spaces on long urls)

Usually I can find a message board post on here that I thought of.

I guess we gotta go with what the ending credits say. Maybe the Lincoln character goes with what people call him and is tired of correcting them.
