I did. Loved it.
Ended up watching every sequel since in theatres except Freddy's Dead
I did. February 1987. I was 13, anf remember it well. During the opening dream sequence when we first see Freddy's silhouette as he's chasing Kristin, the crowd went crazy and started cheering and clapping for Freddy. It was my favorite movie at that time and I played the Dokken single all the time. Watching it now on Syfy, and it seems kinda silly and dated, very much a product of the 80s. Still entertaining though!
shareWe're y'all fucking pissed off that Nancy died?
shareI saw it at the drive-in on a double bill with Meatballs III (We left long before that one was over). Meatballs III has since become a guilty pleasure for me.
shareI saw it on its initial run (I was in my early 20s), and while I liked it, I was disappointed in how much of the terror from the original had been lost. Plus, as another post mentioned, this is the one where Freddy became a wiseacre. The series would keep making money, but the fear factor was never the same again.
sharei woulda loved that
shareI would have loved to but I was only 4 at the time
shareI saw it opening night. Theater was packed. Lots of audience comments throughout.
