Explain the ending...

I didn't understand the ending with the old wife killing her husband. Can someone explain this? And what did he eat that killed him?

I seem to recall a scene where the guy was sticking razor blades inside some apples to give trick o treaters. The wife made a pie with those apples. Maybe she was sick of him.

Ok. Maybe that makes sense...

Or there was a total misunderstanding. It's kind of hard to tell with the two different shots between the grumbling (dying) husband and the wife looking all annoyed and familiar. I take it as ambiguous. I like it that way.

I think you have to peel the apples and slice them to make an apple pie, I could be wrong thou...but if I'm right, the woman would have known that the apples she was using had razors inside.

I havnt seen the movie in years but i dont think she knew the razor blades were in the apples, i think when it happened it was more of an ohh well he was a mean old coot anyway kind of reaction. Just my take on it though.

I did not like the ending at all. They should have just left the ending with them walking home and that is that.

The guy's throat being sliced by the razorblades was completely unrealistic. Seriously, who could chew on some apple pie for breakfast and not know they were eating razorblades? LOL.

A bad ending to an otherwise GREAT movie.

The wife didnt kill her husband. The old guy put the razor blades in the apples, intending for his wife to give the apples to kids trick and treating. He clearly despised kids.Unfortunately for him things didnt work out that way and the apples were left over. That was my impression of events anyway.

The wife knew about the blades in the pie. No way you can make slice up apples without realizing razor blades are in them lol She intended to kill him which is why she didnt seem shocked or disturbed while he was dying. Then she walks over to his body and kisses his head, "Happy Halloween dear"
